Thank You for Making Our Water Treatment Plant Open House a Success

By Mike Marcum, General Manager, Roxborough Water & Sanitation District

On behalf of all of us at Roxborough Water & Sanitation District, I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us for our Water Treatment Plant Open House. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and support made the day a true community celebration.

We opened our doors to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how your drinking water is treated, tested, and delivered. It was inspiring to see so many families, neighbors, and friends touring the plant, asking thoughtful questions, and learning more about the systems that keep our community safe and healthy.

One of the highlights was our “Seek & Find Tour Hunt,” where kids got to search for key pieces of equipment such as the SCADA system, sand filters, pumps, turbidity meters, UV disinfection units, microscopes, and more. This hands-on experience brought to life the science and technology that go into producing clean, reliable water every day. And nobody left hungry thanks to the BBQ and ice cream food trucks!

Events like this are about more than just showcasing infrastructure—they’re about building trust, transparency, and partnership with you, our community. Your engagement reminds us why we do what we do. Every investment we make in our facilities, every upgrade we plan, and every gallon of water we treat is ultimately for you and your families.

We are proud of the work being done here in Roxborough, but we’re even prouder of the strong, informed, and supportive community we serve. Thank you for taking the time to visit, learn, and connect with us.

If you couldn’t attend, we look forward to welcoming you at future events. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay engaged through our website, newsletters, and conservation programs.
